One Dead as Pedestrian Struck by Multiple Cars in Pleasanton on Thursday Evening

Pleasanton, CA — The California Highway Patrol’s Dublin Area office is asking the public for help after a fatal crash on eastbound I-580 just east of Foothill Road on Thursday night, October 9, 2025.

According to CHP Dublin, calls began coming in to the Golden Gate Communications Center at about 8:59 pm reporting a person lying in the lanes of eastbound I-580.

Preliminary information indicates the pedestrian ran into traffic and was struck by a passing vehicle. The pedestrian came to rest in the roadway and is believed to have been hit by multiple vehicles after the initial impact. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

CHP is seeking any additional witnesses as well as information from drivers who may have struck the pedestrian and were unaware or left the scene. If you or someone you know has information, contact the CHP Dublin Area office at (925) 828-0466.
