Winner, winner chicken dinner — the Orinda Rotary’s takeout night with Casa Orinda is back on Monday, November 3, 2025. The long-running fundraiser lets locals bring home Casa Orinda’s famous fried chicken or a vegetarian eggplant parm, complete with sides, while supporting community causes.
If you read our food writer Richard Eber’s behind the scenes article about Casa Orinda, you’re probably already salivating over their fried chicken. So now’s the time to actually eat some!

Dinners are $40 per person, which the flyer breaks down as a $23 meal and a $17 donation. Order two or more dinners early and you might snag a bonus — the first 30 qualifying orders include a free bottle of wine. Must be 21+ to pick up the wine.
Proceeds benefit the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano, Meals on Wheels, and other Rotary community projects. In past years the event has sold briskly thanks to the simple format: pre-order, swing by for pickup, and dinner is handled on a Monday night.

Ordering is open now with a deadline of Thursday, October 31. For details or questions, email orindarotaryfundraiser@gmail.com. To place an order, head to orindarotaryfundraiser.com and scan the event page’s QR code.
Casa Orinda’s fried chicken draws devotees for its crisp coating and classic sides, and the eggplant parm gives vegetarians an easy, hearty option. Whether you are in it for the comfort food or the good cause — or both — this is one of those Orinda traditions that tastes great and does good at the same time.
