It’s a Wonderful Life in Lafayette: Free Tree Lighting, Santa, and Train Rides Return.

LAFAYETTE, CALIFORNIA – Downtown Lafayette is getting the full holiday treatment this year. The Lafayette Chamber says its annual “It’s a Wonderful Life in Lafayette” celebration returns this year right in time for the holiday season.

Expect lots of old timey festive cheer, with free “Lafayette Express” train rides looping the plaza, visits and photo ops with Santa, and hands-on kids’ crafts. Live entertainment will keep the energy up while families sip complimentary hot chocolate and sample festive treats.

This year’s event takes place on Sunday, Dec. 7, from 4:00PM–6:00PM at Lafayette Plaza, 3530 Plaza Way. The evening wraps with a community tree lighting at 5:30PM.

Community Partners Behind the Magic

The celebration is presented by the Lafayette Chamber, with support from the Dana Green Team, Branagh Development, and the City of Lafayette. Organizers pitch it as a free, family-friendly way to kick off the season and bring neighbors together right in the heart of downtown.
