Folks Share Their Absolute Favorite Local Shops in the 925

We’ve been covering a lot of new store openings (and some closings), especially in the clothing space.

And our readers have been busy, sending in their own recommendations of great spots to check out.

Especially with chain stores struggling (francesca’s in Lafayette is liquidating and Vineyard Vines in Walnut Creek closed, to name just a few), locals are turning to, well, local places!

Here are a few that readers sent in. Email your own to tom@bayareatelegraph.com

Faded Gold – Martinez

Reader Harold B sent in this vintage store in Martinez, California, saying that the “area has really blossomed in 3 years.”

The downtown Martinez vintage shop focuses on true vintage plus some Y2K and designer finds, and it also runs as a buy-sell-trade.

It’s at 604 Estudillo St, Martinez, CA 94553 (downtown).

Rothchilds Boutique – Alamo

Reader Karla S wrote in to tell us about this little boutique in Alamo. She says “It’s privately owned by a Contra Costa resident and has beautiful high end clothing and the store has a wonderful spiritual vibe. It’s an incredible in-person shopping experience you couldn’t possibly get online. Going there is like having your own personal shopper. The staff is amazing!”

Rothchilds specializes in curated clothing, chic accessories, and unique gifts. They’re at 3000 Danville Blvd, Suite H, Alamo, CA 94507.

We spoke to owner Linya Rothschild, who says “I have been at my current location for 2 years and in the same Alamo Shopping center for 4 years total. Stop by sometime if you’d like to really get a feel of the Magic inside the boutique and what we offer the community.”

Adibs Persian Rugs – Walnut Creek

As the region has grown and changed, Adib’s has been there all along. The boutique sells Persian rugs in Walnut Creek, and is celebrating its 50th anniversary.

They also sell Oriential rugs and rugs from other regions. And they offer services like cleaning and repair.

Owner Medi Adib told the Bay Area Telegraph “The gallery is very interesting, like stepping into an old bazaar with rugs piles almost as tall as you!”

They’re at 1426 S Main St, Walnut Creek, CA 94596.
