Walnut Creek’s New Golf Shop is Open 24 Hours Per Day–And It’s About to Have Beer

WALNUT CREEK, CALIFORNIA – Ever had the hankering for a round of golf and a beer at 2am? A new business in downtown Walnut Creek is ready to help.

This brand new golf simulator studio in downtown Walnut Creek is now open around the clock — and it appears the business is preparing to add beer soon.

The facility, called Scratch Lab Golf, is located at 1637 Mt. Diablo Blvd.

Scratch Lab Golf is designed as a modern indoor golf training and entertainment space. The studio operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, allowing golfers to book sessions whenever it fits their schedule.

Instead of traditional tee times, players reserve simulator bays online and use advanced tracking technology to practice or play virtual rounds.

Indoor golf simulators like this use launch monitors and high-speed sensors to measure ball speed, spin, club path, and other metrics. Players can practice on virtual driving ranges or compete on digital recreations of famous golf courses.

The around-the-clock access means people can swing by early in the morning, late at night, or even after putting the kids to bed.

Midnight golf round when you can’t sleep? We won’t judge.

The Walnut Creek studio is also designed as a training facility. Coaches who work through the TeachMe.To platform can offer lessons there, giving players access to instruction alongside simulator practice.

Sessions can be booked individually or through memberships, and the technology allows players to analyze their swings in detail or play simulated rounds on hundreds of courses.

Now, it looks like Scratch Lab may be adding another popular feature, especially for the late-night golfing set: beer!

We stopped by and saw a liquor license application posted on the storefront. It’s exclusively for beer–a perfect pairing for virtual golf.

We’re not sure a beer or two will make your swing better. But it will certainly make this a more fun place for golfers to visit.

Indoor golf simulator venues around the country often combine sports practice with a social atmosphere — pairing golf with drinks, music, and watching games on TV.

For golfers in the East Bay, it also offers something unusual: a place where you can work on your swing literally any time of day or night.

And soon, possibly with a beer in hand.
