A Popular Orinda Vietnamese Cafe is Moving (Sort Of)

ORINDA, CALIFORNIA – Locals in Orinda love Kibi’s Café for their delicious and down-to-earth Vietnamese food.

The local spot has become a staple for people who want delicious food that’s not too pricey, and those who want to explore a new cuisine.

They have been successful enough to expand to Danville, and they also have another location in Walnut Creek.

Now, locals tell us that the Orinda location is moving. Don’t freak out if you love this Vietnamese spot, though.

The reported move is about as short as one can possibly be, and it seems like there’s a very good reason behind it.

Locals tell us that Kibi’s Café is moving literally across the walkway at Theatre Square into a larger space.

The current location has a handful of tables, primarily outdoors, but it is mostly a counter-service type of place.

The new reported location of Kibi’s is a larger storefront with room for indoor tables. That will make it easier for people to actually sit down and enjoy their food, as many currently have to carry it out or eat it as a picnic during busy times.

When I stopped by, the new storefront was under construction, and Kibi’s remains open in its current location. When it does ultimately move, it’s likely to be a fairly short jaunt across the walkway to the new spot!

We haven’t received confirmation from the brand on this particular move yet, but there’s a big “Kibi’s Coming Soon” sign on the new storefront. Unless they’re planning to have two stores open across from each other, that’s a pretty solid indication that Kibi’s is (sort of) relocating.
