Danville’s Beloved Mexican Restaurant is Closing Forever

DANVILLE, CALIFORNIA – After almost a decade serving the downtown community, a popular downtown Danville Mexican restaurant has announced that it will be closing its doors for good.

“We have made the difficult decision to close,” the restaurant said in a social media post that garnered hundreds of reactions within hours.

I recall going there several times when my son was a few years old–before the pandemic hit and everything closed down!

As of now, the restaurant has not publicly announced an exact final day of service.

Local diners who want to visit Cocina Hermanas one last time may still have a small window to do so before the Hartz Avenue restaurant closes permanently.

Another Restaurant Is Moving In

So that’s the sad part–the loss of a downtown Danville dining staple. While Cocina Hermanas is preparing to close, though, the space will not stay empty for long.

According to reports, Rancho Cantina, a Mexican restaurant currently operating in Lafayette, plans to open a second location in the same Hartz Avenue storefront after Cocina Hermanas closes.

We’ll be digging much more into that one–make sure to join our free 925 News newsletter so we can share what we find.

It’s sad to say goodbye to Cocina Hermanas, but we look forward to hearing more about what’s coming next.
