Danville’s New Nordstrom Location Has Opened Sooner Than We Expected

Danville’s newest Nordstrom location has opened at the Livery Shopping Center — sooner than the early-July date that we had originally anticipated.

But shoppers should not expect a miniature version of the full Nordstrom department store in Walnut Creek.

The new Nordstrom Local Danville, at 600 Sycamore Valley Road West, is a compact, service-focused hub designed primarily for people who shop online through Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack. It has taken over the former Pure Barre space at the Livery.

The approximately 1,214-square-foot location does not have racks of clothing, shoe departments, beauty counters, or a traditional sales floor. Instead, it gives local shoppers a nearby place to pick up online orders, make returns, arrange alterations, and access other services without driving to Broadway Plaza.

Customers can use the new Danville location for:

  • Pickup of Nordstrom.com and NordstromRack.com orders
  • Returns from Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack
  • Alterations, including work on items purchased elsewhere
  • Complimentary Nordstrom gift boxes for Nordstrom purchases
  • Drop-off donations of new or gently used clothing and shoes

The service hub is particularly convenient for shoppers in Danville, Alamo, Blackhawk, San Ramon, and the surrounding area. The nearest traditional Nordstrom department store remains the larger Broadway Plaza location in Walnut Creek, about eight miles away.

Nordstrom has been expanding its smaller Local concept as more customers buy online but still want easy access to in-person services. The company says the neighborhood hubs are meant to bring pickups, returns, tailoring, and other customer-service needs closer to where people live and work.

Danville is Nordstrom’s sixth Local location in California and its second in Northern California, joining the company’s existing service hubs in San Francisco, Brentwood, Newport Beach, and Manhattan Beach.
