CALIFORNIA STATE – California is getting three more places to order a Double-Double and Animal Style fries.
In-N-Out Burger has added three new California restaurants to its growing list of upcoming locations, including one in Northern California. The new restaurants are planned for Commerce, Irvine and Stockton.
The Stockton restaurant will give San Joaquin County residents another In-N-Out option along one of the area’s busiest retail corridors. The other two locations will expand the chain’s already substantial presence in Southern California.
Exact grand-opening dates have not been announced for all three restaurants, but a company representative told USA Today that the Commerce and Stockton locations are expected to open later in 2026. The Irvine restaurant is also being developed as part of a major new shopping center expected to begin opening later this year.
Here is what we know about each location.
1. Stockton
Address: 10537 Trinity Parkway, Stockton, CA 95219
The Northern California location is being built along Trinity Parkway in northwest Stockton, close to Interstate 5.
The restaurant will be part of a growing commercial area that already attracts shoppers from Stockton, Lodi and surrounding San Joaquin County communities. The larger development has also been linked to other popular drive-thru brands, including Chick-fil-A and Dutch Bros.
Construction was visibly underway in July, and the restaurant is expected to open later in 2026. An exact opening date has not yet been announced.
This will not be Stockton’s first In-N-Out, but its location near Interstate 5 should make it particularly convenient for travelers and residents on the city’s north side.
For Bay Area residents driving toward Sacramento, Lake Tahoe or destinations farther north along Interstate 5, the new restaurant could also become a useful road-trip stop.
2. Commerce
Address: 6233 Telegraph Avenue, Commerce, CA 90040
Another new In-N-Out is planned for Telegraph Avenue in Commerce, an industrial and retail-heavy city southeast of downtown Los Angeles.
The Commerce restaurant is listed on In-N-Out’s official grand-opening page and is expected to open later in 2026.
In-N-Out has not announced a specific opening day or released complete details about the restaurant’s seating and drive-thru configuration.
3. Irvine
Address: 7900 Great Park Boulevard, Irvine, CA 92618
The Irvine restaurant is being constructed at The Canopy, a new 12-acre shopping and dining center in the Great Park neighborhood.
Plans call for an approximately 3,700-square-foot In-N-Out restaurant with a drive-thru. The Canopy is expected to include more than 90,000 square feet of restaurants, shops and neighborhood services.
Other businesses announced for the development include Philz Coffee, H&H Bagels, T&T Supermarket, The Taco Stand, FP Movement and Palmetto Superfoods.
The shopping center is expected to begin opening in late 2026, although individual tenant dates may vary. In-N-Out has not announced a firm grand-opening date for the Irvine restaurant.
The location is notable because Irvine has played a major role in the company’s history. In-N-Out has maintained corporate offices in the city, although the company plans to consolidate its California corporate operations in Baldwin Park by 2030.
In-N-Out Is Still Growing Carefully
In-N-Out now operates more than 430 restaurants across 10 states, but California remains by far its largest market.
The company is also preparing new restaurants in Arizona, Utah and Tennessee. A new location in Twin Falls, Idaho, opened on July 24.
Despite that expansion, In-N-Out has repeatedly said it does not intend to grow as quickly or broadly as many national fast-food chains.
