DUBLIN, CA — If you love Pokemon, MTG, sports cards, or any other kind of tradeable card and collectible, we’ve got a big update for you.
88 Cardhouse is preparing to open a 5,200-square-foot store at Hacienda Crossings in Dublin, bringing trading card games, collectibles, organized tournaments and other community events to the shopping center.

88 Cardhouse already operates a store at 5970 Mowry Avenue in Newark. Its merchandise includes Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Dragon Ball, One Piece and other trading card games, along with sealed products, individual cards and gaming accessories.
Hacienda Crossings officials say the location will host tournaments, special events and community programming, giving local players a dedicated place to meet and compete.
That community element has become an increasingly important part of the trading card business. Stores frequently serve as gathering places where players can join weekly competitions, trade cards, learn new games and participate in larger release-day events.
It’s a culture, not just a passive hobby.
At 5,200 square feet, the new 88 Cardhouse should have enough room for both retail displays and organized play. The size also makes it one of the more substantial new specialty retailers arriving at Hacienda Crossings this year.
The card shop is part of a broader wave of openings at the Dublin shopping center. Other incoming businesses include World Market, Sana’a Cafe, Sally Beauty, Miniso and a returning Jamba location.
Hacienda Crossings already includes Regal Cinemas, Barnes & Noble, Best Buy, Old Navy, Lazy Dog, Market Tavern and World of Beer. The addition of 88 Cardhouse gives the center another entertainment-oriented tenant that could keep customers on the property for tournaments lasting several hours.
For Tri-Valley collectors, the opening will also eliminate the need to travel to Newark, Livermore or farther into the Bay Area for certain organized trading card events.
