I Tried Philz Coffee’s New Oatmeal Cookie Cold Brew; My Honest Thoughts

Today, Philz Coffee launched their brand new Spring drink, the Oatmeal Cookie Cold Brew. Of course, I drove straight over to Philz when it opened so I could try the new drink out!

The drink boasts a creamy oat milk base that provides a subtle oat flavor reminiscent of oatmeal cookies. The sweetness level is perfect, complementing the cookie-like taste. To elevate the experience further, Philz adds a touch of cinnamon on top, creating a flavor profile similar to Snickerdoodle cookies.

Here are my initial tasting notes after my first sip:

I noticed that this drink is distinct from Philz’s traditional gingerbread offering, which features warmer spices like cloves and nutmeg.

The Oatmeal Cookie Cold Brew, on the other hand, focuses on the pure taste of cinnamon, perfectly paired with the oat milk’s subtle nuttiness to create a robust and flavorful beverage. It kind of reminds me of horchata.

Despite being oat milk-based, the drink doesn’t suffer from any watery consistency, a concern I often have with this type of milk. I briefly considered ordering it with cream instead of oatmilk, but then I decided to get it as designed.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the Oatmeal Cookie Cold Brew, finding it refreshing, light, and perfect for kicking off the spring season. I also appreciate the drink’s dairy-free nature as an additional perk.
