Watch: Rep Mark DeSaulnier Heckled By Anti-Israel Protestors at Town Hall

Poor Mark DeSaulnier just wanted to share a Powerpoint about his accomplishments in transportation, infrastructure funding, and cancer research. Alas, it was not to be.

At a town hall meeting in Lafayette, California, DeSaulnier (who represents much of the Bay Area in the US House of Representatives and has conducted more town halls than any other rep) showed slides about various highway funding initiatives and other bills he contributed to.

When he got to a slide about Israel and Gaza, though, anti-Israel protestors began to stand up in the audience and scream at him, assuming him of “funding genocide”.

Even before the current war, DeSaulnier was a strong advocate against antisemitism in the Bay Area. Ironically, several protestors outside the event held antisemitic signs.

Pro-Israel attendees were also in the crowd and applauded for DeSaulnier’s Israel-related funding initiatives.

The situation grew so heated that a Sheriff’s deputy was called in, and broke up a brief skirmish that took place after the town hall.
