Intense Heat Strikes the East Bay

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a heat advisory for the East Bay, including Contra Costa and Alameda counties, effective from Tuesday through Thursday. The advisory warns of elevated temperatures ranging from the 90s to around 100 degrees Fahrenheit, with overnight lows in the 60s.

The advisory encompasses various regions within the East Bay, including the interior valleys and hills of the North Bay, East Bay, and Santa Clara Valley. Specifically, the advisory is in effect from Tuesday through Thursday for the following areas:

  • East Bay Hills and Interior Valleys
  • Santa Clara Valley
  • Eastern Santa Clara Hills

Additionally, the Southern Salinas Valley, San Benito, and interior Monterey County are under the advisory from Wednesday through Thursday.

Here in the 925, heat was intense on Tuesday. We observed outdoor temperatures in Lafayette, California above 98 degrees.

We also observed temperatures of 92 degrees at our HQ in Lafayette in the late afternoon.
