Avoid This Lafayette Road at All Costs, Giant Paving Project Causes 1+ Hour Delays

A popular Lafayette, California road has seen substantial delays–projected to be up to one hour–during a large-scale repaving project.

Update 6/27: Here’s just a taste of the pain you’ll experience on that road this morning.

What’s causing the issues, and which road is affected?

Here’s the good news first. Lafayette says it is making significant progress on its 2024 Road Paving Project. As of the third week, contractor JV Lucas Paving has completed several crucial tasks, including shoulder backing and cleanup on Pine Lane, repaving and cleanup on Angelo Street, and a pavement overlay on Taylor Boulevard.

But, this week, the city’s paving contractor will install crack seals and overlay Pleasant Hill Road, resulting in the temporary closure of one lane at a time for both southbound and northbound traffic. Driveway access will be affected, the city says, and residents should anticipate delays of up to an hour.

The Bay Area Telegraph drove on the road today, and indeed, we were delayed!

Stay clear until the project is done–hopefully by today, but we’ll keep you posted. Sign up for 925 News so we can tell you when this project is complete:
