Photos: A Serene Walk on Walnut Creek’s Contra Costa Canal Trail

Walnut Creek, California’s Contra Costa Canal trail looks like something out of a Monet painting in the Summer. Lillypads fill the canal, with trees overhanging the trail.

In the winter, though, it’s still a beautiful walk, and the quieter trail is serene. Start at Heather Farm Park, walk down the Canal Trail, join the Iron Horse, and end in Pleasant Hill at the Starbucks or check out the new pizza place before walking back.
