This Story From Trader Joes in Walnut Creek Will Restore Your Faith in Humanity

When Mayra K., a resident of Rossmoor in Walnut Creek, California, discovered that her wallet was missing after loading up her cart at Trader Joe’s in Walnut Creek, she was incredibly upset.

It turned out that her wallet had been stolen earlier in the day. Rather than forcing her to put her items back, Mayra shared that the employees at Trader Joe’s instantly stepped in to help out.

One employee offered to buy the groceries for her, saying that she could pay him back. She declined and decided to wait for her husband to arrive, not feeling comfortable imposing that much on a stranger.

While she waited, another employee helped to comfort her over the loss of the wallet. He gave her chocolate on the house and chatted with her about what had happened until her husband arrived to get the groceries.

On the way out, Mayra says that the staff members further cheered up her day by giving her free flowers to take home.

“If Trader Joe’s wasn’t already my favorite store, what happened there on Friday afternoon would’ve made it,” Mayra said in a social media post.

“SO encouraging especially these days to know that there are kind, caring (and, I’m betting, fairly young?) people out there” said Rosalie H, another local.

“What a kind soul,” Shelly E from Creekside Drive chimed in.

This heartwarming story is a great reminder that while there’s some folks out there who want to drive a car through the front door of your local pharmacy, most people in the 925 are kind and decent.
