Latkes, BBQ, Cheesecake Are an Unlikely Combo at This New Lakeshore Restaurant

OAKLAND, CALIFORNIA – Barbecue food, latkes and cheesecake. Those aren’t exactly things you think of as going together. But they’re the basis for the menu at Crazy Block, a new restaurant serving those items on Lakeshore in Oakland, California

Crazy Block has a vibrant interior with red booths and floor to ceiling murals of Pokemon and other characters–many enjoying cheesecake.

On the menu, you’ll find things like BBQ brisket as a sandwich.

They also have lamb and other BBQ items as plates with sides.

Many plates come with sauces like hot honey.

Crazy Block also serves traditional potato latkes with sour cream and apple sauce.

The place is owned by Ben, a man with a Seth Rogan laugh and a penchant for cheesecakes.

There’s a rotating selection of over 150 flavors.

Crazy Block is new to town, and is located at 3355 Lakeshore Ave, Oakland, CA 94610.
