A Massive Vegan Festival is Coming to Berkeley

Berkeley, CA — The Fifth Annual Bizerkeley Food Festival will take place on Sunday, September 7, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the North Berkeley BART Station, bringing together more than 80 vendors from across the U.S. and abroad.

The plant-based celebration is hosted by local vegan entrepreneur Erika Hazel, also known as The Bizerkeley Vegan.

This year’s food headliners include El Compa Vegano and Fungi Foods, alongside featured vendors from Miami, New Orleans, Oregon, and India.

Food and Beverage Highlights

Attendees can expect samples and dishes from local and national vendors including:

  • Sampling Vendors: Cocobreeze Caribbean Restaurant, Donnas Tamales, Hot Boi Chili Oil, Hippie Chai, Hodo Foods, and more.
  • Food Trucks and Specialty Items: Dream Bowlz, Maya’s Cookies, Aki Takoyaki, That Hausa Vegan, Voodoo Vegan, Veggietize Me, and over two dozen others.
  • 21+ Offerings: A dedicated Beer Garden & Wine Down Lounge featuring Faction Brewing, Tessier Winery, and Traveling Bird House.

Vendors Beyond Food

A large marketplace will include artisan crafts, fashion, wellness services, and festival merchandise, with offerings from businesses such as Vegan Power Co., Auraeology, Luxx Jewels, and more.

The Wellness Zone will host organizations including Azure Sky Chiropractic and Sage Against the Disease Acupuncture.

Entertainment and Activities

The festival will also feature a full slate of activities for all ages:

  • Live Performances: Artists including Stunna Man 02, Uromastyx, and DJ Ajani will perform throughout the day.
  • Eco Sports Pickleball Tournament: Hosted by professional player Troy Akin, with cash prizes.
  • Kids Zone: Includes a whipped cream pie-eating contest, bounce houses, giant games, and line dancing.
  • Silent Auction Market: Featuring items from Oakland Roots, Mr. Dewie’s Cashew Creamery, and more.
  • Fashion Show: Showcasing festival retail vendors.

Community Engagement

Proceeds benefit California Pit Bull Rescue, and adoptable animals will be present from Berkeley Animal Care Services and other organizations.

Bizerkeley Food Fest Week: Sept. 1–7

The festival expands into a weeklong celebration with Bizerkeley Food Fest Week, featuring events across the East Bay:

  • Sept. 1: They’re Trying to Kill Us documentary screening with Bad Ass Vegan (Sports Basement, Berkeley)
  • Sept. 3: Stop Light Party Social Mixer (51 & Tel, Oakland)
  • Sept. 4: Vegan Mac & Cheese Tasting Competition (Travelin’ Joe Espresso, Berkeley)
  • Sept. 5: Plant Fare Fireside Chat Panel (The Butcher’s Son, Berkeley)
  • Sept. 6: Vendor Pre-Order & Wristband Pick-Up (North Berkeley BART Station)
  • Sept. 7: Main Festival Day

  • General Admission: Free with RSVP (starts at 12 p.m.)
  • Express Entry ($20): Early access, welcome gift, free entry for kids under 15 with adult ticket.
  • VIP Pass ($75): Includes early entry, VIP Lounge access, swag, discounted merchandise, cooking demos, and entry to all Food Fest Week events.
