Teenager Knocked Unconscious in High School Basketball Fight, Livermore Police Say

LIVERMORE, CA — A 17-year-old boy was knocked unconscious during a fight involving multiple juveniles inside the Livermore High School gymnasium building Tuesday night, according to the Livermore Police Department.

Police said officers responded around 8:40 p.m. to a report of a fight in the foyer area of the gym during a basketball game. When officers arrived, they located a 17-year-old Livermore male who had reportedly lost consciousness during the altercation. Police said his injuries were not life-threatening.

Police said the suspects left the area before officers got to the scene.

Investigators are now working to identify those involved. The department said its Criminal Investigations Bureau is handling the case with assistance from school resource officers and the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District.

Police said there were reports that a suspect may have displayed a firearm during the incident, but that information has not been confirmed and no firearm was located at the scene.
