WALNUT CREEK, CALIFORNIA – Rossmoor residents have another option for grabbing a bite inside the community, and this one comes with breakfast sandwiches, cinnamon rolls and specialty coffee.
The Golden Pear is now operating a coffee cart across from Rossmoor’s driving range, adding a casual morning food stop to the restaurant that opened earlier this year.
For residents who want something to eat before golf, or a coffee to take along on a morning walk, it’s another reason to leave the breakfast dishes in the cupboard.
More Than Just Coffee
Despite the name, the coffee cart has more to offer than a caffeine fix.
Rossmoor’s official listing says the food selection includes breakfast sandwiches, bagels, muffins and cinnamon rolls. The drink lineup includes coffee, espresso and specialty lattes, along with hot chocolate, tea, orange juice and soda.
There are also some less expected options for a morning cart: beer, wine and Irish coffee are listed among the offerings. The food is available to go, according to Rossmoor’s announcement.
That makes this a different kind of stop from settling in for a meal at The Golden Pear’s main dining room.

Another Addition From The Golden Pear
The cart follows the arrival of The Golden Pear itself, which officially opened for lunch and dinner on May 28 at the Creekside Clubhouse, 1010 Stanley Dollar Drive, according to Rossmoor’s opening notice.
That restaurant replaced Creekside Grill and Bar, bringing chef Rodney Worth’s cooking to a familiar Rossmoor dining space.
Worth’s restaurant group also includes The Peasant & The Pear in Danville and The Bourbon Pear in Livermore. At Rossmoor, the main restaurant offers sandwiches, salads, pasta and entrees, along with a bar and patio dining.
The coffee cart adds an earlier option to that operation. Residents looking for a quick breakfast can stop by in the morning, while the main restaurant’s regular lunch and dinner hours are listed as 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.
It’s a modest addition, but a useful one for a community where eating out can also mean catching up with neighbors without making a trip into downtown Walnut Creek.
When To Go
Rossmoor lists the coffee cart’s hours as Tuesday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to noon.
There is one wrinkle to check before heading over late in the morning: The Golden Pear’s website gives conflicting closing times. One heading says 11 a.m., while the text underneath says noon. Calling the restaurant at 925-278-1474 is the safest way to confirm.
The cart is inside Rossmoor’s gated community. The Golden Pear describes its operation as serving the Rossmoor community exclusively, so visitors should confirm access arrangements before making a special trip.
For residents, though, the new option is straightforward: a breakfast sandwich or pastry, a cup of coffee, and no need to head outside the gates.
