Sometimes, we forget how big Walnut Creek is. We don’t always make it to the northern part of the city as often.
When we stopped by recently, we discovered a brand-new gourmet cookie place (which it a reminder that exploring more often yields good things.)
Chip Cookies sells giant, gourmet cookies, many of which are topped with icing. They have flavors like classic sugar cookies and their OG chocolate chip cookies, as well as more complex varieties.
From our extensive journalistic research, it appears that Chip Cookies opened back in June of 2024.
It’s a small storefront, but you don’t need much space to sell cookies!
It seems like they sell a lot of cookies for special occasions. You can buy various boxes, or you can get cookies in the store and have them topped with things like sweetened condensed milk or white chocolate drizzle. There’s even a Nutella option!
Nominally, these are cookies, but they’re more like tiny cakes with all the frosting and toppings you find on them.
Amazingly, Chip is Walnut Creek’s second fancy cookie place. Crumbl recently opened near Rossmoor, with a similar concept. That means there’s now a cookie place serving both the northern and southern parts of the city!

Who knows how many more cookie places Walnut Creek might get? The city does have 10 ice cream places, after all.
