Plucked Chicken and Beer, a once well-trafficked fried chicken restaurant in Walnut Creek, California, appears to have closed.
When we stopped by this week, the Walnut Creek location’s interior was almost entirely empty. The signage was gone, and so was the outdoor seating.

It’s a bit of an enigma, though. Is the restaurant closed permanently, or is it closed temporarily for a renovation or update?
So far, we haven’t been able to tell definitively. Plucked Chicken’s website now redirects to Sauced Barbecue’s site. When I called them, they weren’t sure why that was the case.
If you look up Plucked Chicken on DoorDash or Yelp, it says the closure is temporary. But from what we saw at the restaurant, if it is temporary, it’s going to be a while before they’re open again!
The Walnut Creek location was known for a rotating selection of beers and tasty chicken sandwiches. I especially liked their spicy buffalo chicken sandwiches.
Interestingly, they were also a brick-and-mortar location for the virtual burger brand started by YouTube influencer MrBeast.
For now, you won’t be able to get any of their food. We’re not sure if they’re coming back. If someone from Plucked wants to reach out and let us know, we’re all ears! If you know anything about the future of the restaurant, let us know in the comments.
