LAFAYETTE, CALIFORNIA – There’s a brand new café coming to downtown Lafayette, California. The new place is located right near the new El Talpense restaurant on Mount Diablo Blvd.
We stopped by and saw a big Coming Soon sign for this new place on a storefront that was formerly an upholstery store.
The new restaurant is Abe’s Café. There’s not much information about it yet, as the news of the pending opening is brand new.
They have a Berkeley location, though, and from the sign they put up, we can get a sense of what they’re serving.
The café looks like it will serve a variety of avocado toasts, as well as bagels, croissants, and other items.
They also appear to feature mango smoothies, matcha, tea, and other fancy drinks.
The sign mentions breakfast, lunch, pastries, desserts, coffee, smoothies, matcha, and more. Their slogan is “Brightening your day.”
It’s great to see new restaurants opening up in downtown Lafayette. We just tried the new Club location and should have a review of that soon.
We took a peek in the window at the future location of Abe’s Café, and it doesn’t look like any work has been done yet. It’ll take a bit of time for this new place to open.
When it does, though, we’ll definitely be stopping by. It’ll be especially nice to have some less expensive dining options for a quick bite in Lafayette.
