Men Armed With 9mm Pistols Rob Patrons at Upscale Walnut Creek Restaurant

On Saturday night, an unprecedented armed robbery struck a popular local Walnut Creek restaurant.

Patrons were reportedly enjoying food and drinks at Hops & Scotch Bar in the Contra Costa Center neighborhood of Walnut Creek, California.

At around 10:20 p.m. on Saturday night, three men robbed patrons who were standing outside the restaurant.

No one was injured, but it sounds like a terrifying experience.

The men wore masks, reports indicate, so it may be challenging to identify them in the surveillance footage. Police say they were looking for a white Hyundai Elantra, in which the men fled.

We love Hops & Scotch Bar, both for their delicious drinks and for an amazing pretzel appetizer they have on their menu. It’s a classy and upscale establishment—not the kind of place you might expect to be the target of an armed robbery.

Hops and Scotch said on their Instagram: “Last night, three of our community members were victims of a robbery outside Kick House and Hops & Scotch. We are deeply saddened by this incident and want to assure everyone that we are actively working with local authorities to identify those responsible.

If anyone has any information or witnessed anything suspicious, please reach out to the police or DM us.

We stand by our community, and together, we’ll make sure this doesn’t go unnoticed.

Stay safe, everyone. 🙏”

It’s scary to think that this kind of dangerous crime is becoming more common here in the 925. Earlier this week, thieves rammed a car into the front of the CVS in Lafayette, California, in an attempt to steal the ATM. That brazen robbery attempt broke the usual silence of a quiet and sleepy East Bay town.

Anyone with information on the robbery at Hops & Scotch should report it to the Walnut Creek Police.
