There’s a Warehouse-Sized Store in Pleasant Hill Entirely Full of Vintage and Vinyl

PLEASANT HILL, CALIFORNIA – When you hear about a vintage store that sells records or clothing, you probably think of some tiny, dusty, mom-and-pop spot with a couple of bins full of old vinyl.

Here in the analog-obsessed Bay Area, though, vintage is big business.

Case in point: Anastasia’s and Rasputin, a vintage vinyl, CD, and clothing store in Pleasant Hill, California.

The local brand of Anastasia’s and Rasputin was originally located in a very distinctive building by the Sun Valley Mall (the local chain of stores goes back to 1971). It had giant solar panels on the roof, plants growing off the side, and other unique architectural features.

Apparently, that space wasn’t big enough to keep up with the demand for vintage stuff in the area. Rasputin and Anastasia’s moved into a gigantic, big-box-style storefront near Best Buy over in Pleasant Hill (3250 Buskirk Ave, Pleasant Hill, CA 94523).

From the outside, it’s hard to tell—or to imagine—that what’s basically a record store in 2026 could be this big.

But as you step inside, you’re greeted by rows and rows stretching all the way to the back of the space, containing tens of thousands of CDs, vinyl records, cassette tapes, and more.

On one side of the store, you’ll find the Anastasia items—inexpensively priced vintage clothing from multiple eras.

Charmingly, despite the store’s massive size, it retains much of the odd and funky energy of a vintage record and clothing store.

The staff members dress distinctively—there’s clearly no specific dress code here. Haphazardly taped old concert posters cover the walls, and many sections appear to have handwritten labels and concepts.

If you’re looking for an old Joni Mitchell album from the ’70s or a bizarre cassette tape of bagpipe music, you can probably find it here—and for cheap.

Many cassettes and other items were priced around $0.50. Vintage clothing can be as little as two to three dollars.

Rasputin and Anastasia’s also buys vintage stuff to resell in the store. Don’t expect to get huge amounts of money for your old clothing—I brought some items and got about seven dollars. But I was happy to know it would go to a nice home.

It can be fun to visit smaller vintage stores that are more curated and sell a wide variety of items. Vintage Vida in Lafayette is a great option for that.

But if you want a warehouse-sized vintage store with every possible kind of media and clothing you can possibly imagine, Anastasia’s and Rasputin has you covered.

  1. Cassette tapes!

The library where I worked stopped accepting donations of cassette tapes for resale over a decade ago — because NOBODY wanted them.

Who knew there was a store in California that did??
