San Ramon Has a “Super” New Burger Place

SAN RAMON, CALIFORNIA – San Ramon just got a new burger option — and it is a familiar Bay Area name.

I’ve seen this particular place downtown in SF. And now, there’s a new one here in the 925!

Super Duper Burgers has officially opened in San Ramon at 146 Sunset Dr., Unit A-3, in the Shops at Bishop Ranch, just across from City Center Bishop Ranch.

The new restaurant opened March 31 and is operating daily from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., according to the company and local reports.

The chain started in San Francisco’s Castro neighborhood in 2010 and has grown across Northern California, with the San Ramon location joining a lineup that already includes restaurants in places such as Concord, Emeryville, and Berkeley. The San Ramon outpost was described as the first Tri-Valley location.

What is on the menu

Super Duper is known for a fast-casual menu centered on burgers, fries, and shakes, with an emphasis on higher-end sourcing and a retro-inspired feel.

Company and local descriptions of the San Ramon location say diners can expect all-natural beef burgers, free-range chicken sandwiches, an organic veggie burger, an all-day breakfast sandwich, fries and garlic fries, house-made pickles, brown sugar lemonade, and shakes and ice cream made with Straus Creamery.

For San Ramon burger fans, it is another sign that the Bishop Ranch area continues to pull in recognizable regional brands — and in this case, one with a pretty loyal Bay Area following.

It’s also perhaps a sign that the culinary influence of City Center is expanding beyond that shopping center’s borders. Will we see more SF restaurants opening in the vicinity? Time will tell!

I’m hoping to stop in soon and try the new place. Make sure to join my free 925 News newsletter so I can keep you updated.
